Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and Old Dominion Electric Cooperative have partnered with the Local Energy Alliance Program to offer a pilot energy efficiency program for REC?s members in Albemarle, Louisa, Greene, Madison, Culpeper and Orange counties.
Under the LEAP program, qualified contractors inspect homes for energy efficiency improvement opportunities and recommend and install the improvements. REC is also offering free in-home energy reviews to members.
Following the inspections, the cooperative?s members are eligible for incentives to improve home energy usage. The cap per member is 25 percent of a project?s cost up to $600, which allows homeowners to take advantage of more than one incentive for improvements.
REC?s incentives can also be combined with LEAP rebates for residents of Albemarle, Greene and Louisa counties to further offset the cost of improvements. The upgrades may include insulation upgrades, heat pump tune ups, duct sealing and air sealing. For more information, visit myrec.coop.?
